Go off the beaten track for a 6-day relaxing and nature tour in northern Vietnam. Discover some exciting places in North Vietnam. Between rice terraces, cultural encounters and connection with nature, a regenerating, stimulating and exciting circuit!

First, far from mass tourism, sail on Thac Ba Lake, the largest artificial lake in Vietnam, dotted with islets that give a special atmosphere to the place. You will discover both local life on the lake and life in the Dao jungle. Enriching activities based on sharing both by participating in local craft workshops or by experiencing local way of paddling.

Then you will take the direction of the charming hamlet of Tram Tau, in Yen Bai province and at the foot of Ta Xua mountain (possibility of hiking for 2 or 3 days to the summit). You will leave for a tour in the neighboring village and picnic at the edge of the waterfall.

You will then visit Tu Le village to discover the local life of the minorities residing there. Visit a tea farm to taste one of Vietnam’s most famous teas. You will pass by the famous Photographer’s Pass, from where the view of the rice terraces attracts photographers from all over the world. You will end up in the magnificent Mu Cang Chai, land of endless rice terraces and minorities.

  • Departure in the morning for Thac Ba Lake, the largest artificial water reservoir in Vietnam. You will arrive at the edge of the lake to board the boat which will sail to the guest house. After installation, you will share a lunch with the Dao who manage the site. In the afternoon, boat tour on lake. You will stop on an islet to visit and climb to the top to see the view of the lake. After, you will try yourself on paddling the traditional way of local people. Back to the homestay to relax before a local diner and a peaceful night.
  • Day 2 > Thac Ba Lake – Tram Tau
  • duong-lam_smallIn the morning, you will leave with Madame Nhat or her sister, both experts in medicinal plants for a botanical tour in the jungle. Learn how the Dao use natural elements for therapeutic or medicinal purposes. Back at the homestay , you will have the choice between learning bamboo weaving, guided by the locals, or taking a cooking class with the chef. Lunch and then transfer to Tram Tau. Arrived for dinner and a quiet night with Nghia , the owner. A traditional Dao herbal bath will relax you before nightfall.
  • Day 3 >Tram Tau – Tu Le
  • tam-coc_smallIn the morning, departure for a charming walk to discover the picturesque villages and the life of the H'mongs . You will have tea with a family to discuss the habits and customs. The hike will take you to a lovely waterfall where a picnic will be organized. After lunch, you will return peacefully to the guest house. You will then leave to take the road for Tu Le and for the Hotel Le Champs. Superb Resort enjoying a relaxing environment and a splendid view. On the way, stop in a tea field for a tasting and learn about the culture. This region is very famous for producing quality tea. Arrived at the hotel at the end of the afternoon. Check-in and free time until dinner. Night on site.
  • Day 4 > Tu Le
  • After breakfast, you will leave for a day of hiking in the valley to discover the daily life of the locals. Depending on the season, you can participate in their daily tasks in the field (planting rice, harvesting, plowing the land or other). You will have lunch with a H'mong family and try sticky rice, the local specialty. Back at the hotel, you can relax in the hot springs to invigorate and regenerate your muscles. Dinner and night in peace at the hotel.
  • Day 5 >Tu Le – Mu Cang Chai
  • After breakfast, the road resumes towards Mu Cang Chai via the famous photographers pass. Mythical place for its rice terraces which attract photographers from all over the world but also a paragliding festival. Arrived at Mu Cang Chai, a hike will take you to Rasberry Hill , known for its rice fields and especially with its circular summit. The hike will end at the village of Kim Noi. On the way, you will see the H'mong minorities in everyday life and sublime landscapes. Dinner and night on the spot at the inhabitant.
  • Day 6 > Mu Cang Chai – Hanoi
  • The morning will be devoted to the walk around the village to continue to enjoy the beauty of the place and to deepen your knowledge of the local minorities until lunch. After lunch, return to Hanoi. Arrival at the end of the afternoon, end of the tour.
