A tour off the beaten track where you will discover the magnificent Vietnamese nature and a cult place, the Thay Pagoda. First, around the black river and then in the national parks of Xuan Son and Ba Vi.

Discover local life in these places preserved from mass tourism where nature still reigns supreme. The Thay Pagoda, dating from the 11th century, is a place that is as peaceful as it is historic. One of the very first places where water puppet shows were conceived and organized. Buildings topped with Yin & Yang are superbly preserved. After visiting the part around the lake, climb the few steps to reach the hidden part of the pagoda. There is a very special atmosphere specific to ancient pagodas. For the adventurers, you can descend into the “cave of hell”, where erosion has caused all kinds of animal shapes to appear, along with some legends (not all verified but nevertheless amusing).

Then, you will continue your way to the north of the black river to discover the remote village of Sung, fascinating by local traditions. You will end this tour by visiting two national parks, one very little known to international tourism, Xuan Son. Then finally the one that was used as a seaside resort by the French during the war, Ba Vi.
