Introduction
Mu Cang Chai and Sapa, 5 days adventure and trekking tour to admire some of the most beautiful landscapes in Vietnam with its endless rice fields.
First of all, the trekking begins in the charming town of Tu Le to discover the pretty rice fields and the daily life of the Thais occupying the district. After the short walk, discover the pleasure of a bath in the hot springs.
The next day, departure for La Pan Tan, a less touristy town on the outskirts of Mu Can Chai, via the famous photographers’ route. During the trekking, you will learn about the working of the land by the local minorities in the rice fields.
The next morning, the hike continues in the middle of magical landscapes before taking the car in the afternoon towards Sapa. You will hike in the middle of the rice fields. So you will then understand why Sapa is known and recognized for its fantastic landscapes.
If Sapa remains as the most famous and can be mentioned as an over touristy location, it is still a wonderful place to visit. Combined with the less crowded Mu Cang Chai, you will experience different perspectives of the rice paddies in Northern Vietnam. Ideal for trekkers and nature lovers !

Detailled Itinerary
Day 1: Hanoi - Tu Le
In the early morning, the car picks you up at your hotel in Hanoi to start the road towards Tu Le village in Yen Bai province. After lunch on site, a short two-hour hike will allow you to contemplate the landscapes and learn about the daily life of the Thai people living there. A break in the hot springs will be offered to relax. Diner and night at the place.
Day 2: Tu Le – Photographers Route – Mu Cang Chai
After breakfast, the road resumes towards Mu Cang Chai via the famous photographers pass. Mythical place for its rice terraces which attract photographers from all over the world but also a paragliding festival. Arrived at Mu Cang Chai, a hike will take you to Rasberry Hill , known for its rice fields and especially with its circular summit. The hike will end at the village of Kim Noi. On the way, you will see the H’mong minorities in everyday life and sublime landscapes. Dinner and night on the spot at the inhabitant.
Day 3: Mu Cang Chai - Sapa
The morning will be devoted to the walk around the village to continue to enjoy the beauty of the place and to deepen your knowledge of the local minorities until lunch. In the afternoon, you will take the road towards Sapa by a magnificent road and the O Quy Ho pass, one of the 4 most beautiful in Vietnam. Free time in Sapa to discover the city and rest. Night on site.
Day 4: Sapa - Tavan
After breakfast, you will start the trek. You will pass by stunning landscapes over the valley, rice fields and passing by remote villages. Lunch will be taken on the way. In the afternoon, you will continue the walk to arrive in Ta Van village. Take your time to rest and contemplate the location. Dinner with the hosts.
Day 5:Tavan - Giang Ta Chai - Su Pan
For the last day, the hike continues towards the village of Giang Ta Chai. On the way, pass through the bamboo forest of Hoang Lien National Park and come to a waterfall. Lunch in the surroundings before resuming the walk to the village of Su Pan to begin the transfer back to Hanoi. End of round.
